Megan Bennett

Welcome to my e-Portfolio! My name is Megan Bennett and I am graduating Spring 2017 with my BA (Honors) in Sociology with certificates in Professional & Public Writing and Latin American & Caribbean Studies. This portfolio highlights my global and intercultural experiences I’ve had during my four years at Florida International University as well as future aspirations.

Participating in the Global Learning initiatives program at FIU has to offers has been transformational in personal and professional development. In 2013, I was a worrisome Biology major without any direction. I knew that I loved helping people but I didn’t know how. After a year of wondering, I decided to utilize the many opportunities FIU offered.

 

I joined programs such as the Global Learning Medallion program, Alternative Breaks, National Student Exchange, and the Global Living Learning Community while taking Global Learning classes to broaden my global awareness and understanding. Along my college journey, I was also able to participate in an international internship and research.

With each travel experience, global learning class, and opportunity that put me out my comfort zone, I’ve learned something new about myself and my passions. After graduate, I wish pursue a career with international development and urban planning. I hope you enjoy my journey and embrace your own.
